How to Wear: The Crop Top Trend

Kudos to the girls who are brave enough to bare their midriff in full-fledged crop tops, but I just can’t bring myself to do it! Body issues aside (and we all have them), I spend five days a week in a corporate office so a crop top really isn’t a worthwhile investment for my wardrobe.

When Fashion Magazine asked the Style Panel experts to try the crop top trend on for size, I was hesitant at first, but came up with a dainty way to style it…

This season is all about the crop top, which is terrifying for most girls.
What are your tips for getting over the fear and how to wear it?

Even though I’m not a big fan of the trend, I do love the look of a crop top layered over a cute dress or paired with a high-waisted skirt. 

In response to the challenge, I styled an orange tie-waist cropped blouse with a chic hi-low skirt that gives just a glimpse of skin. It’s a bohemian look that can be dressed up with heels or dressed down with flats. I can also adjust the skirt to sit higher if I don’t want to show any skin…or if I’ve had a big lunch

I love the way this outfit looks with my black and white geo-print studded sandals from Zara and complimentary accessories. My new straw box clutch from Tristan ties in beautifully too!

To show off the delicate crochet detail on the shoulder of this blouse, I wore my hair in a low side pony with a loose face-framing waves. I kept my makeup simple except for a bold pop of coral on my lips – love those Maybelline Vivids!
